When an agent payment goes wrong, the evidence already exists
Disputing an agent-initiated payment means answering questions nobody logged the answers to. What did the agent know? What was it authorised to spend? Was anything unusual about the payment at the time, or does it only look unusual now that you know how it ended?
Every risk check is recorded: the intent, the decision, the score, each signal with the numbers it fired on, and the hash of the ruleset in force. That record is written before the payment settles, which is what makes it evidence rather than reconstruction.
Raise a claim against a payment and Spend7 assembles the packet from what was stored: the decision as it was made, the same agent's activity in the 24 hours either side, this account's other payments to that merchant, and how the merchant looks across the whole platform. Nothing is re-scored: running today's engine over a six-week-old payment would produce a document describing a decision that was never made.
The packet states the case against the claim too. If Spend7 flagged the payment and your system executed it anyway, the packet says so, because that is material to who carries the loss and a packet that only argues one side is worth nothing to the person receiving it.
A confirmed claim feeds back into the graph. The merchant becomes a confirmed bad counterparty for every account, which is a signal no single customer's own history could ever contain.

Questions
- Does Spend7 cover the loss?
- No. Chargeback-assist produces the evidence; it is not insurance. An underwritten backstop (Spend7 absorbing part of a loss on a payment it scored as low risk) is not offered and not priced, because that is an insurance and legal commitment a person has to make rather than a feature that can be shipped.
- What is in the evidence packet?
- The claim, the payment, the decision exactly as it was made with every contributing signal, the ruleset version and hash it was made under, the same agent's activity in the 24 hours either side, this account's other payments to that merchant, and the merchant's 30-day picture across the platform. Available as JSON or PDF.
- Can I raise a claim on a payment scored in stateless mode?
- No, and that is the trade-off of stateless scoring. Nothing was recorded, so there is no evidence to assemble. Claims need a stored paymentId.
